Who We Are
Canine Crusaders is an all volunteer, non profit dog rescue organization that was founded for dogs that come from abusive and stray situations. Our goal is to help these wonderful animals find loving homes so that they can have a second chance at life. Our organization does have a shelter, but our goal is to get every one of our dogs into a foster home where they can be with loving families while they wait for their turn to be adopted! Our animals come from stray situations, L.A. shelters, and owner turn ins. We work with our local police departments, vets, as well as animal control. We get dogs of all sizes and ages, purebreds and mixes alike.
We currently have over 50 dogs that are in dire need of finding loving families. Please help us help the helpless... volunteer, foster, or adopt today.
Our Mission
Canine Crusaders believes that an animal is a life to be treasured and endeared forever. An animal is a companion and friend to man whose value cannot be measured. Canine Crusaders' mission is to help these loyal animals find loving homes and a second chance at life. We believe that through educating the community on the importance of spaying and neutering pets, advocating for animal rights, and working with local organizations, we can truly make a difference in the lives of these cherished creatures.

The 10 Commandments From a Pet's Point of View
My life is likely to last 10-15 years; any separation from you will be painful for me. Remember that before you buy me.
Give me time to understand what you want from me; don't be impatient, short-tempered, or irritable.
Place your trust in me and I will always trust you back. Respect is earned not given as an inalienable right.
Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment; I am not capable of understanding why. I only know I have been rejected. You have your work, entertainment, and friends, but I only have you.
Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice and your tone. You only have to look at my tail.
Be aware that however you treat me, I'll never forget it, and if it's cruel, it may affect me forever.
Please don't hit me. I can't hit back, but I can bite and scratch, and I really don't ever want to do that.
Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right foods or I've been out in the sun too long, or my heart is getting old and weak. It may be I am just dog-tired.
Take care of me when I get old. You too will grow old and may also need love, care, comfort, and attention.
Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, "I can't bear to watch" or "Let it happen in my absence". Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember, regardless of what you do, I will always love you.

The Prayer of a Stray
Dear God, Please send me somebody who will care!
I am tired of running, I am sick with despair.
My body is aching; it is so racked with pain
and, Dear God, I pray as I run in the rain
that someone will love me and give me a home,
a warm cozy bed and a big juicy bone.
My last owner tied me all day in the yard,
sometimes with no water and boy that was hard!
So I chewed my leash and I ran away
to rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now I am tired and hungry and cold
and I am so afraid that I will never grow old.
They have chased me with sticks and hit me with stones
while I run the streets just looking for bones.
I'm not really bad God, please help if you can,
for I have become a "victim of man."
I am wormy and ridden with fleas
and all that I want is an owner to please.
If you find one for me, I'll try to be good
and I won't chew their shoes but I'll do as I should.
I'll love them, protect them and try to obey
when they tell me to sit, lie down or to stay.
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
because I am getting so week and I am so alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry
cuz I am so afraid that I am going to die!
I've got so much love and devotion to give
that I should be given a new chance to live.
So please Dear God, please answer my prayer
and send me someone who WILL really care
